On August 30, 2020, Sangha Member Jac Dufrense talked about their experiences in the midst of a global pandemic, national reckonings around racism, and the ever-worsening backdrop of climate catastrophe, the truly just and enlightened society known as Shambhala can feel like a distant fantasy. Jac discusses the current challenges we face, and ways our Buddhist practice and social justice activism can help shift the paradigm towards a society that is truly equal for all. Interweaving the Dharma with secular perspectives, including discussions around personal accountability, interdependence, equity, and ultimately faith, this talk is geared towards those called to action to engage liberation in all its forms.
