Interested in developing and strengthening your mindfulness practice?  Whether we have been practicing for 10 days, 10 months or 10 years, we always approach meditation with beginner’s mind.Cartoon

In this informal one-hour evening sit, Beginning Meditation provides  guidelines for posture and developing non-judgmental moment-to-moment awareness.  How we approach the path is important to developing a healthy practice and this class offers the an opportunity to create space in our lives, ask questions and share experiences with others on the path with us.

At Lion’s Roar, we like to say that any practice has to have the Four Wheels of a Chariot to be a healthy practice:

  1. Mindfulness – Staying present and noticing when our minds wander.
  2. Relaxation – Developing rhythmic or diaphragmatic breathing.
  3. Friendliness – Humor and kindness towards ourselves. Accepting and becoming our own best friends.
  4. Openness – Creating space to experience something new. Adapting to our moods and to the chaotic, ever changing word around us.

Please Note:  The session will take place in the Community Room in the back.  You can access it through the side door off the parking lot.
